Cherry (03) Yangon - Bagan - Mandalay - Sagaing - Mingun - Yangon
(6 Days/ 5 Nights)
Day 01 : Yangon (Arrival)
Arrive at the Yangon International Airport. Welcome by our
assign guide and transfer to hotel. Half-Day sightseeing to Bogyoke
Aung San Market (formerly Scott Market and it is a one – stop
centre for shoppers.), Chaukhtatkyi (colossal reclining Buddha
image, built in 1907) and sunset view at Shwedagon Pagoda (it is
generally accepted that it was founded during the lifetime of the
fourth Buddha and one of the wonders of the world, dating back over
2,500 years). Dinner at local restaurant and Overnight at Hotel in
Yangon.
Day 02 : Yangon-Bagan
After breakfast
at hotel, transfer to
Yangon International Airport for Bagan by domestic flight (about
one and half hours). On arrival at Nyaung – Oo Airport, transfer to
Hotel. After check in hotel, proceed to Nyaung – Oo local market and
continuing with sightseeing to the most interesting pagodas and
temples including Shwezigon Pagoda (the prototype of later Myanmar stupa built by King Anawrahta in 11th century), Wetkyi-in Gubyakkyi
Temple (built in 13th century, Indian style ‘cave temple’ with the
fine frescoes of scenes from the jatakas), Htilominlo Temple (one
of the larger temples of Bagan, noted for its plaster carving still
remain on the arch pediments, frieze and pilasters and the
horoscopes of important personages inscribed high up on the walls)
and visit to lacquerware handicraft workshop. Lunch at local
restaurant. After lunch, sightseeing to Ananda Temple (seems like a
magic cave full of wonders, an architectural masterpiece of the
early – style temple and there is also a vast collection of green
glazed terracotta plaques), Thatbyinnyu (Towering above the other
monuments of Bagan, the magnificence in white which is takes its
name from the Omniscience of the Buddha) and Dhammayangyi Temple (one of the most massive temples of Bagan, also noted for its fine
brickwork and the temple can be seen from quite a distance from all
directions). Enjoy the beautiful sunset view at one of the famous
temples. Dinner at local restaurant and Overnight at Hotel in Bagan.
Day 03 : Bagan-Mandalay-Amapura-Ava-Sagaing
After breakfast at hotel, transfer to Nyaung – Oo
Airport for Mandalay by domestic flight. On arrival, start your full
Day excursion to Amarapura (an ancient capital of the Konbaung
Dynasty). This trip will take you to MahaganDayon Monastery (where
more than a thousand monks live and study, to see their last meal of
the Day in total silence), U Bein Bridge (the old intriguing 1208
meters long bridge was totally constructed with teak planks by Mayor
U Bein over 2 centuries ago). And observe Myanmar traditional
hand-woven silk workshop. Continue to Ava (from 1364 AD, Ava was
the capital of a Burmese kingdom for nearly 400 years.), tour
highlights include the 27-metre-high Masonry Watch Tower (known as
the Nanmyin (or) the "Leaning Tower of Ava"), Maha Aungmye Bonzan
Okkyaung(a brick and stucco monastery, built by the chief Queen for
her royal abbot in 1818 AD), Ava Bagaya monastery (built with 276
teak pillars) and observe Myanmar traditional Alms bowls workshop.
Afternoon across Ava Bridge (built by British engineers), to visit
picturesque Sagaing Hill (a retreat for Buddhist devotees with
numerous Pagodas and Monasteries). Hillsides are dotted with
numerous pagodas and monasteries. Continue to visit Kaunghmudaw
Pagoda (the shrine composed of three circular terraces and a
gigantic dome towers to a height of 151 feet). In the evening,
drive back to Mandalay. Lunch and Dinner at local restaurant and
Overnight at Hotel in Mandalay.
Day 04 : Mandalay-Mingun
Morning boat trip to Mingun, just 12km on the
west bank upstream from Mandalay. Upon arrival, Mingun Pahtotawgyi
Paya (the largest unfinished pagoda, as it stands it is the biggest
brick pile in the world.) and Mingun Bell (the largest hanging
bronze bell in the world, 12 feet high, has a diameter of 16 feet 3
inches at the lip and weighs 90 tons). Take a ride by ox-cart to a
village near by to see village life. Return to Mandalay by boat.
After lunch, sightseeing includes Royal Palace, known as "The Golden
City" or "The Center of the Universe"; Mahamuni Buddha Image
(the
image is said to have been cast in the life-time of the Gautama
Buddha and that the Buddha embraced it 7 times thereby bringing it
to life. And the image is also considered as the greatest, next to
Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar), Tapestry Workshop; Marble carving and
Bronze carving workshops, Gold leaf making workshop, Shwenandaw
Kyaung or Golden Palace Monastery (famous for its intricate wood –
carving and at one time this building was part of the palace complex
and was used as an apartment by Myanmar King and his chief queen and
it was in this building that he died) Atumashi Kyaung (‘Incomparable Monastery’ was built by King Mindon in 1857), Kuthodaw Pagoda
(the pagoda complex has been dubbed ‘the world’s
biggest book’, for standing around the central stupa are 729 marble
slabs on which are inscribed the entire Buddhist canon). In the
evening enjoy the panoramic view of the city & the spectacular
sunset at Mandalay Hill (the Lord Buddha, accompanied by his
disciple Ananda, was said to have climed Mandalay Hill while on one
of his visits to Myanmar.). Dinner at local restaurant and
Overnight at Hotel in Mandalay.
Day 05 : Mandalay-Yangon
In the morning, take your free time in Mandalay
and transfer to Mandalay International Airport Airport for Yangon by
domestic flight. On arrival, transfer to Hotel. Lunch at local
restaurant. Evening sightseeing to Bogyoke Aung San Market (formerly Scott Market and it is a one – stop centre for shoppers.), Sule Pagoda
(over 2,200 years old, it is in the centre of downtown
Yangon and for centuries, it has been the focus of the city’s social
and religious activity), Mahabandoola Garden (built in 1868,
formerly known as Fetch Square, Victoria Park to commemorate Queen
Victoria), Independence Monument (built in 1950, 150 ft high) and
City Hall (the colonial & Burmese architectural style). Then
proceed to stroll around China town and fruits market. Dinner at
local restaurant and Overnight at Hotel in Yangon.
Day 06 : Yangon Departure
After breakfast at hotel, morning leisure time
and transfer to Yangon Int'l Airport for departure flight to next
destination.
