SCT-02 Yangon – Bago – Thanlyin - Yangon ( 5 Days / 4
Nights )
Day 1 : Bangkok - Yangon
Arrive at the Yangon International Airport.
Welcome by our assign guide and transfer to hotel. Dinner at local
restaurant and Overnight at Hotel in Yangon.
Day 2 : Yangon
Breakfast at the Hotel. Full day sightseeing to
Kandawgyi royal lake and Karaweik ( a royal floating barge on the
royal lake ) for a photo stop, Sule Pagoda ( over 2,200 years old,
it is in the centre of downtown Yangon and for centuries, it has
been the focus of the city’s social and religious activity ),
Mahabandoola Garden ( built in 1868, formerly known as Fetch Square,
Victoria Park to commemorate Queen Victoria ), Independence Monument
( built in 1950, 150 ft high ) and City Hall ( the colonial &
Burmese architectural style ). From there a downtown city
orientation tour covering the old colonial centre of Yangon.
Continue to visit Botataung Pagoda and Nanthida Jetty to see the
ways of life on the Yangon river, then proceed to Bogyoke Aung San
Market ( formerly Scott Market and it is a one – stop centre for
shoppers. ). Lunch at local restaurant. Continue sightseeing to Kaba
Aye Pagoda ( World Peace Pagoda ), Naga Glass Factory, Chaukhtatkyi
( colossal reclining Buddha image built in 1907 ) and sunset view at
Shwedagon ( it is generally accepted that it was founded during the
lifetime of the fourth Buddha and one of the wonders of the world,
dating back over 2,500 years ). Then proceed to stroll around China
town and fruits market. Dinner at local restaurant and Overnight at
Hotel in Yangon.
Day 3 : Yangon - Bago
Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast,
excursion to Bago ( an ancient capital of the Mon Kingdom ) by car (
about 2 hours drive from Yangon ).On the way visit to Allied Forces
War Memorial Cemetery ( beautifully kept ground, had 27,000 stone –
graves of Commonwealth and Allied Forces Fallen Soldiers in the
Myanmar Campaign were honourably kept ). Then proceed to Bago
Market, Shwemawdaw Pagoda ( one of the most venerated pagodas in
Myanmar, dating back over 2,000 years ), Shwethalyaung reclining
Buddha image ( built in 994 AD. ), Kyaikpun Pagoda ( four gigantic
seated Buddha images placed against the sides of a massive brick
pillar ), Kya Khat Wain Monastery ( one of the three largest
monasteries in the country, watching the long line of monks and
novices file out of the monastery in the morning for their daily
alms round is quite a sight ), Kanbawzathadi ( ancient palace site )
and Mahazedi Pagoda ( constructed in 1560 ) Lunch at local
restaurant ( Bago ). After excursion, drive back to Yangon. Dinner
at local restaurant and Overnight at Hotel in Yangon.
Day 4 : Yangon - Thanlyin - Yangon
Breakfast at the Hotel. After breakfast,
excursion to Thanlyin ( formerly known as Syriam, was the base
during the late 1500s and early 1600s for the notorious Portuguese
adventurer Philip De Brito ). Proceed to Kyaik Khauk Pagoda ( which
enshrine the hair relics of Lord Buddha ) and Ye Lai Pagoda ( It’s
appropriately named since the complex is perched on a tiny island in
the middle of the river ).
After excursion, drive back to Yangon.
Lunch and Dinner at local restaurant and Overnight at Hotel in
Yangon.
Day 5 : Yangon - Bangkok
After breakfast, free time for leisure at Hotel.
Leave Yangon International Airport for Bangkok. |
