Beaches in Myanmar

Partly rimming the great Indian Ocean, Myanmar coastline stretches for1760 miles (2832 km). Myanamar has a long coastline from the mouth of the Kissapanadi (Kaladan) River to the border city Kawthaung, the south edge of Myanmar. There, many un-spoilt beaches such as Ngapali, Ngwe Saung (Silver Beach), Kanthaya and Chaungtha beaches are famous in Myanmar and are strongly attractive to the beach lovers.

NGAPALI BEACH

This beautiful beach is on the Rakhine Coast near Thandwe (Sandoway). From Yangon to Sandoway, it takes 35 minutes by flight. A wide choice of hotels from Bay View Hotel and Sandoway Beach Resort to standard Ngapali Beach and Silver Beach.

CHAUNG-THAR BEACH

It is located 40 km to the West from Pathein (Bassein) and it takes 5 hours drive from Yangon. There are bungalow-type Hotels along the beach with modern facilities. By far Chaung-Thar is the most crowded beach in Myanmar with many of international tourists among them.

KANTHAYA

Kanthaya (the Pleasant Beach) is situated 290 km from Yangon near Gwa of the Rakhine Coastline, it is accessible by an 8 hours drive from Yangon crossing the Rakhine mountain ranges.

NGWE SAUNG BEACH

It is a 15 km stretch of unspoiled beach along Bay of Bengal. Most Luxurious to Superior Class Hotels lined up the beach for catering those who love peaceful comfort.
